NSPRA Leaders Memorial Scholarship

The deadline to apply for this NSPRA 2025 scholarship is Friday, Feb. 7.  

New this year: Applicants are encouraged to register for the NSPRA 2025 National Seminar when registration opens. If selected for a scholarship, recipients will be refunded for registration fees as applicable to their award.

The NSPRA Leaders Memorial Scholarship is administered by the Foundation and was created to enable families and colleagues to honor members who were respected leaders in the school public relations profession and in NSPRA. The scholarship covers the cost of a registration to the NSPRA National Seminar.

This scholarship honors:

  • Nora Carr, APR, chief of staff, Guilford County (N.C.) Schools 2008-2022, NSPRA President 2013-2014, and 2010 NSPRA Presidents Award recipient
  • Joe Krumm, APR, executive director, community and government relations, North Clackamas School District, Ore., NSPRA President 2012-13, and NSPRA Northwest Region Vice President 2000-2003
  • Nick Goble, director of public relations, Pennsylvania School Boards Association, NSPRA President 1976-77, and NSPRA Northeast Region Vice President 1973-75
  • Phil Toman, director, information services, Newark (Del.) School District, NSPRA Northeast Region Vice President 1975-79, and 1988 Presidents Award recipient
  • Roy Wilson, NSPRA executive director from 1950-1976, and 1992 NSPRA Presidents Award recipient

To be eligible for application candidates must:

  • Hold membership as a professional-level or professional partner in NSPRA;
  • Have never attended the Seminar or have not attended the Seminar in the past three years; and
  • Be employed in a full-time professional school public relations position.
