Jared Cotton, Ed.D., superintendent of Chesapeake (Va.) Public Schools, has been selected as the recipient of the 2022 Communication Technology Award for Superintendents. The award, presented by NSPRA in partnership with Blackboard, recognizes one district leader annually for leadership in redefining, upgrading and integrating cutting-edge communication technology to improve and expand outreach and engagement with internal and external education stakeholders.

NSPRA offers the following five strategies for school public relations professionals who want to prepare for communications during challenging times.
National Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept. 15 - Oct. 15, honors the cultures and contributions of Americans who identify as Hispanic or Latino/Latina/Latinx. In 2021, NSPRA social media channels shared content that paid tribute to the generations of Hispanic and Latino Americans, past and present, who have positively influenced and enriched the field of public relations, this association and the nation during the month. NSPRA members were invited to join the celebration by submitting examples of how their school district or organization celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month.
During its annual meeting at the NSPRA 2021 National Seminar in July, the NSPRA Executive Board affirmed by acclamation three new members.
