Crisis Communications Track of NSPRA Academy Kicks Off in January

Author: NSPRA Staff/Thursday, December 5, 2024/Categories: News

When a crisis occurs, school communities expect transparent, timely and accurate information. Is your district and staff prepared? From pre-crisis planning to post-crisis recovery, the Crisis Communications Track of NSPRA Academy, led by school crisis communication expert Rick Kaufman, APR, offers a comprehensive framework to help anticipate challenges, build trust and lead with confidence.

This year’s program features an expanded six-module series, plus a bonus in-person session at the NSPRA Seminar in Washington, D.C. Each module builds on the last, helping school communicators establish effective crisis response structures and communication plans. Participants will also hear from guest speakers sharing real-world case studies on managing crises in their districts. All sessions are recorded for review, ensuring flexibility to accommodate participants' busy schedules.

Enrollment is limited to just 40 participants—don’t miss this opportunity to take your crisis communication skills to the next level!

🧠 Learn the psychology of a crisis: understand how stakeholders react and use this insight to guide your response.
📋 Develop a custom crisis communications plan: create a tailored plan with risk assessments, protocols, and team roles.
🎯 Master communications in a crisis: explore key concepts and primary objectives of crisis communications and how to effectively use social platforms during a crisis.
🔄 Prepare for post-crisis recovery: build strategies for restoring trust and improving readiness after a crisis.
🛠️ Engage in real-world simulations: apply your skills through hands-on tabletop exercises and scenarios.
