Author: NSPRA Staff/Sunday, February 23, 2025/Categories: News

Led by the Learning First Alliance—a coalition of national education associations including NSPRA—Public Schools Week is an annual celebration dedicated to recognizing the transformative power of public education and honoring the exceptional educators, staff, parents and school board members who work tirelessly to support and empower students every day. This year’s theme, Engaging Communities, Engaging Schools, highlights how schools and their communities unite to advance student achievement and success.

Why We Celebrate Public Schools Week

Public Schools Week shines a spotlight on the critical role that public schools play in shaping the future of our communities and our nation. It is an opportunity to:

  • Celebrate Excellence: Recognize the innovative teaching, dedicated leadership and unwavering commitment that drive student success.
  • Build Community: Highlight the powerful partnerships between schools and the communities they serve, creating supportive environments where every student can thrive.
  • Inspire Engagement: Encourage stakeholders—from families to local organizations—to join together in championing public education and advocating for the resources and support that schools need.
