NEW: K-12 Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) Readiness Checklist

The Council of the Great City Schools (CGCS) and the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) today jointly launched the K-12 Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) Readiness Checklist. As the leader in school communicationTM, NSPRA is proud to serve as a supporting partner of the publication, which is designed to empower school districts with a structured framework for responsible integration of Gen AI technology into K-12 education.

Gen AI holds immense potential to transform the educational landscape, but its successful implementation hinges on careful planning and consideration of various factors. School communicators can help prepare their districts by partnering with other department leaders to review the checklist's curated set of questions and considerations across six core focus areas (Executive Leadership, Operations, Data, Technology, Security and Risk Management) to help ensure that Gen AI solutions are:

  • Free from bias or algorithmic discrimination.
  • Protect data privacy.
  • Have a clear understanding of the sources of generated information.

As a supporting partner of the K-12 Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) Readiness Checklist, NSPRA joins a distinguished group of organizations that share a common goal of preparing K-12 leaders for the responsible implementation of Gen AI technology. These organizations include the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), AASA (The School Superintendents Association) and the State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA).
