Each year, the NSPRA Foundation for the Advancement of Education funds and administers several scholarships for individuals to attend the NSPRA National Seminar. Congratulations to the 12 recipients selected to receive one of the 2022 Seminar scholarships!
Kayla Donathan (pictured below left), communications specialist at Kanawha County (W.Va.) Schools and Jaylen Lyles (pictured below right), communications specialist at ISD 271 | Bloomington (Minn.) Public Schools, have been named the 2022 NSPRA Foundation Seminar Scholarship recipients. These NSPRA scholarships are provided through the NSPRA Foundation for the Advancement of Education.
Jena Pucillo (pictured below), social media specialist at Norwich (Conn.) Public Schools, has been named the recipient of the 2022 Armistead New Professional Scholarship. This scholarship provides a registration to both the National Seminar and a pre-Seminar workshop. It is administered by the NSPRA Foundation for the Advancement of Education and is made possible by the personal sponsorship of NSPRA Past President Lew Armistead, APR, and his wife Joan.
Veronica Gallegos Johannsen (pictured below), executive director of marketing and communications at Corsicana (Texas) Independent School District, has been named the 2022 Barry Gaskins Mentor Legacy Scholarship recipient. The scholarship is administered by the NSPRA Foundation for the Advancement of Education. This year's recipient was selected by the 2021 Barry Gaskins Mentor Legacy Award Recipient, Susan Brott, APR.
Jason Lemley (pictured below), director of community engagement at Lumpkin County (Ga.) School System, has been named the 2022 Dawn K. McDowell Memorial Scholarship recipient. The scholarship is administered by the NSPRA Foundation for the Advancement of Education and is made possible thanks to generous contributions from Dawn McDowell’s family and the Minnesota chapter.
Stacy Rader (pictured below), communications officer at Douglas County (Colo.) School District, has been named the 2022 Don Bagin Memorial Scholarship recipient. The scholarship is administered by the NSPRA Foundation for the Advancement of Education and is made possible by the generous contributions of his family and by NSPRA members in his memory.
Cristin Casper (pictured below), community services coordinator at Beaufort County (S.C.) School District, has been named the 2022 Pat Jackson Seminar Scholarship recipient. The scholarship is administered by the NSPRA Foundation for the Advancement of Education and is made possible by the generous donations of NSPRA members in his memory.
Bonnie Birdsall (pictured below), director of digital learning and communication at Champlain Valley School District in Shelburne, Vt., has been named the recipient of the 2022 Executive Board’s Seminar Scholarship. This scholarship is administered by the NSPRA Foundation for the Advancement of Education and is made possible by the personal donation of NSPRA Executive Director Barbara M. Hunter, APR.
Sondra Whalen (pictured below), director of student programs and communications at Vernon Verona Sherrill Central District in Verona, N.Y., has been named the recipient of the 2022 Rich and Carolyn Bagin Scholarship. This scholarship is administered by the NSPRA Foundation for the Advancement of Education and is made possible by generous donations from the Bagin family, their friends and NSPRA members and past leaders.
Yerania Moreno (pictured below), bilingual communications specialist at Roaring Fork School District in Rifle, Colo., has been named the recipient of the 2022 Leaders Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is administered by the NSPRA Foundation for the Advancement of Education and is made possible thanks to generous contributions from family and friends of former NSPRA leaders Joe Krumm, APR, Nick Goble, Phil Toman and Roy Wilson.
Ben Fisher (pictured below left), director of communications at Reeds Spring (Mo.) Schools and Hillary Wright-Kaufman (pictured below right), coordinator of communications and public relations at Washington County (Ky.) Schools, have been named the recipients of the 2022 #K12PRChat Seminar Scholarship. These scholarships are administered by the NSPRA Foundation for the Advancement of Education and str made possible by possible by the donations of NSPRA members who purchased Road2NSPRA T-Shirts and through sponsorships and donations toward the #K12PRFit 5K.
