Colton Elliott
Public Information Officer
Park City (Utah) School District
U.S. Air National Guard

Colton Elliott"As I work in school PR, I’m reminded that the freedoms we enjoy in our schools wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of military members. It’s even more important today to serve as anchors for democracy, ensuring everyone has a voice and our values of freedom and equality continue to thrive. Veterans Day is a time to honor those who came before us and a reminder that we must protect these freedoms—giving the next generation the chance to excel in whatever they dream.

"Veterans Day holds deep personal meaning for me as I reflect on my 15 years of service and the incredible men and women I’ve had the honor of serving alongside. Having deployed four times, I’ve seen firsthand the selflessness of those who protect our nation, often putting others before themselves. The sacrifices of my fellow service members remind me that freedom is not free, and I’m grateful for those who served before me, those serving alongside me, and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice."
